About us
Each and every ND who belongs to the GANP, by definition, has an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree as well as a naturopathic medical degree from a formal 4-year medical school, accredited by the United States Department of Education (http://www.cnme.org).At this time, the state of Georgia does not license Naturopathic Medicine which is understandably confusing for the public: anyone at this time may adopt the term “naturopath” however, very few in the State of Georgia who use and advertise this term are actually graduates from formal 4-year federally accredited medical schools. It is for this reason that we are seeking licensure in the State of Georgia, to ensure public safety and public knowledge of their health care provider’s training and expertise. Please visit this link for more details on how to recognize a quality healthcare provider: http://www.aanmc.org/education/recognizing-quality.php#CNME.
Our members do hold licenses in other states (or Canada) which license naturopathic medical doctors, in order to allow some form of formal oversight and comfort for the public in regards to compliance of state statutes and regulations as well as continuing education hour requirement fulfillment. The pictures below link to the only seven institutions in North America that are accredited by the federal government and accepted by Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges (http://www.aanmc.org/)..
